The season of gifting is here and we've got a few amazing gift ideas for the foodie in your life. As you may know [or do now :)], Lush Gourmet operates out of Grand Rapids, MI. We absolutely love being a part of such a growing city and working alongside other wonderful local small businesses, so we thought we'd highlight a few of our favorite shops around town and some of the great products they offer!

Red Wine + Dark Cocoa Chili almonds - Who doesn't love a comforting glass of red wine during the winter? *Hands up*. There's nothing quite as nice as a glass of wine and a snack; nothing too heavy, just a little something that compliments what you’re drinking. Red wine is often paired with chocolate — enter Dark Cocoa Chili almonds. This is a wonderful pairing because it isn’t too sweet and you get a nice bite from the chili at the finish. We really like pairing them with Bonobo Winery’s Red blend! Though Michigan is known worldwide for their white wines, this red comes highly recommended. Bonobo is located in Traverse City and they can do no wrong! So swing by The Crushed Grape {2869 Knapp St NE, Grand Rapids, MI} to pick up a bottle of their red and a pouch of our Dark Cocoa Chili almonds.

Capra Goat cheese + Coconut Lavender almonds - This pairing will Blow. Your. Mind. We initially discovered it during a Palate Exploration class that we did with our friends at Founders Brewing Co. and The Cheese Lady. This pairing was quick to rise to fame with attendees. The tart creaminess of the honey goat cheese compliments the sweetness and crunch of the Coconut Lavender almonds. You can pick up this delicious pairing and many more delicious cheeses (they stock over 500) from our friends at The Cheese Lady {315 Fuller Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI}.

Cocktail book + Salt & Pepper peanuts - Cocktail culture is continuing to grow, and we're all about it. You can't go wrong with a classic Old Fashioned or Moscow Mule, but it’s always fun to mix it up a little during the holiday season, especially when you’re hosting! So head over to Art of the Table {06 Wealthy St SE, Grand Rapids, MI} and pick up the book ‘Holiday Cocktails’ along with a bag of our Salt & Pepper peanuts. Amy, the owner of Art of the Table, swears by the Salt & Pepper peanuts and always pairs them with a cocktail (her go-to is a Manhattan). The subtle saltiness and pleasant kick from the pepper give a nice balance to your favorite libation.

Happy Holidays and Happy Gifting!
